The difference in wording here is HUGE!
In general, we do not need more evaluations of staff. We are constantly tracking their work and how much money they bring in and how many sick days they take, etc. We have a pretty good idea of which staff are underperforming and which ones are the stars.
What we do need is more staff evaluation.
By that, I mean we need more staff offering their evaluations of the company and how it functions. We need more staff evaluating our communication systems, customer-facing structure, internal relationships, benefits programs, flexibility, development opportunities, and overall workplace experience. And we need these evaluations in real-time.
The more staff we have offering their evaluations of our companies, the more data we have to work with when figuring out which areas need the most improvement.
